Why You Should Help?
You probably have your own problems with trail access and Montana is far away. Yet one day you just might want to go somewhere where the trails are still uncrowded and the ride is still an adventure. You shouldn't need to head to Canada, or Mongolia. You should be able to do it here.
We have worked with the Forest Service, attended meetings, commented on the travel plans, appealed the decisions and the result has been the same. The trails will be closed. At this point we have one option left; litigate. |
Lawyers are not cheap, and our initial consultations suggest the cost of the lawsuit will be $100,000.
Being Montana, there aren't a lot of us, and we don't have corporations or wealthy donors supporting us. We are fighting for all of us to keep trails open. Just because this is currently mostly a Montana phenomenon, don't be surprised if it spreads to other states like California, Colorado, and Utah that have their own recommended wilderness and wilderness study areas. |
